Now in alpha

Every app,
one keystroke away.

Gaka is a fast, native app launcher for Mac. Hit ⌃Space, type a few letters, press Return. It learns what you reach for and puts it first — then gets out of your way.

What's inside

Small, sharp, and fast.
Nothing that gets in the way.

  • Summon from anywhere

A global hotkey (⌃Space) brings Gaka up over whatever you’re doing. No Dock icon, no menu bar — just there the instant you need it.

  • Fuzzy search

Type a few letters in any order. “sfr” finds Safari, and the letters you matched light up so you can see why.

  • Learns your habits

Frecency ranking quietly boosts the apps you open most, and most recently — so your top hit is usually just one keystroke.

  • Speaks your language

Apps show their names in your system language — “Kalender”, not “Calendar” — while still matching what you type in English.

  • Keyboard-first

Return to launch, Shift to expand the results, arrows to move, ⌘1–9 to jump straight to any hit. Your hands never leave home row.

  • Arc-inspired themes

Soft color gradients with a fine film grain, layered over live desktop glass. Light and dark, tuned to taste.

  • Fast & native

Built in Swift on AppKit — no Electron. It reads your apps once at launch, caches icons, and shows the top hit before you finish typing.

  • Private & sandboxed

Runs in Apple’s App Sandbox and needs no Accessibility access. It reads your Applications folder — nothing else.
